Welcome back,

Thanks a lot for reading my blog post on data recovery. I hope you have found my sharing both insight and useful on how to save your data.

Have you ever wondered when disaster strikes it may be presumed that data has been lost forever, whether it is a result of software error, or user error, this can be damaging as a computer user. I will share with you some data recovery techniques.

How to save your data?

There are many users accept the fact that once their data or files are gone, it is gone forever and faces substantial data losses which resulting in financial losses as well.

In fact, this should not be the case. Even when any operating system does not have a solution for the recovery of lost files or data.

How can a data recovery software help me?

Any software is designed for the recovery of lost data. Please note that it may not be possible to restore all lost data. If the sectors where the lost data is stored has already overwritten by new data, the restoration of data with any data recovery software is not possible. This made the recovering process daunting.

There will be possible errors, even if some of the sectors that have been partially overwritten will lead to an incompletion of some files. Take this for example, highly fragmented files can be very difficult to recover.

If there are files being deleted in Linux operating system, the recovery of some files with names is near impossible due to the fact that the names. Other important attributes of the files are completely removed off from the register when a file is deleted, unlike FAT or NTFS file system.

The signature of a plain text file is also not possible to determine, when we are finding the files using this search. However, this may be applicable to some other file types who do not attest a unique file signature.

What are the do’s and don’ts of data recovery techniques?

#1 If it is possible, try not to save anymore data onto the system after the data in question have been deleted / lost.

#2 Simply switch off your computer.

#3 Use your mind to think carefully and patiently, how in the first place the data has lost. The key is not to panic and quickly restore the data in question.

#4 The next step is to close all application without saving any data to the disk or other data storage media (if possible). This will lead some damage to the disk.

#5 However, if the data were really lost or deleted then it is advised to use data recovery software to restore them, by attaching the drive to the machine where data recovery software is installed.

Here it is, I hope the above sharing will enlighten you a little on some simple data recovery techniques, but I do hope that you do not have to resort to data retrieving process as it is a nightmare.

Be careful and backup your data at least once a month.

Take care and talk soon!
